So after spending a few hectic days at MOC and listening to mostly mediocre sound it was a pleasure to hear a few systems that sounding like music to me. I didn’t have to participate much this year I guess my “talents “ lol as a di jay were not required. I won’t mention what I thought was bad however I heard a few very good sounding systems at the time i attended the rooms . This all changes depending on when you arrive and of course the musical selections.
I and may be prejudiced because i import the products was very happy with the new Comtesse powered by Pilium ekectonics with the Wadax studio player . This is a real world sized speaker and in today’s world a reasonably priced pair of speakers.
I enjoyed the Wadax room with Shunyata wiring, ARC new Reference amp and Magico speakers .Brandon did a wonderful job making it sing.
on recommendation I tracked down the Lorenzo speaker room
and went and had a listen . I don’t know the gear other than they had some tube amps, some Nagra items and an SAT table . This sounded quite good and was an enjoyable 20-30 minutes .
I enjoyed The Wilson - Benesch set up and Luke was kind enough to play some music I was familiar with.
I’m sure I may have missed some others but mostly I heard a lot of thumpy bass that was disjointed and some screech filled demo’s.
This to sad as the Industry really needs to do better on many fronts as all the parties have a part.
This is a subject for elsewhere . To everyone I ran into from WBF see you at a show somewhere my next one eill
be Capfest in November
Peace out !

In the above post #7, that snake fest of cables is what was driving the rig in the Zensati room. I was interested in learning more about those cables because they were also being used in the Lorenzo room. They are Zensati's top of the line series called #X. I believe the topology is copper with gold plate and copper with silver plate but I couldn't quite follow the exacxt explanation of the Italian gentleman who explained it to me. I can however read, and when I saw the retail price was about 25K Euros for a 1.5m PC, I realized that the cables pictured above tops out at around 400K. I then looked around for a chair to faint in.

When audio shows become the equivalent of which deli can pile the most pastrami between two slices of bread I think it’s time to stop and call that behavior out!
I can’t but i will say it exists ! I don’t know these wires and have no comment about their performance but this display IMO is just rediculous.
