ok, for those who believe the factory in re: power cords and footers (ie they're 'optimized') -- whatever.

the Ref5se and 150se both respond extremely well to power cords. pick your flavor. i like the TG Audio stuff myself. but anything will beat the stock cords.

i've posted previously re: hard feet under the 5se as they made a notable improvement.

now, after installing a BDR Source under my 150se (nice improvement) i thought i was done. until i found 5 HRS nimbus couplers / spacers that i used in lieu of the stock feet. ---lower noise floor = greater detail retrieval, better spaciousness (a lifting and deepening of the stage), more pronounced bass depth and weight (not exaggerated, mind you). a notable and impressive improvement w no downside whatsoever.

so folks, before you go trading in for latest and greatest, try tweaking a bit. it helps, a lot.

i use the kimber giant palladium pc (the old one that looks like ... well, a giant ... n/m) anyway, it made HUGE difference, lowered the noise and seemed to increase the size of the sound stage and things were way quieter across the board, and i use an arc integrated. so i can confirm the above.

that is interesting about the couplers. logically it makes sense because arc doesn't seem to pay much attention to the feet on their gear ... and their remotes. their remotes suck but you don't pay for that i guess so i am being overly picky. i will have to try that ... thanks for the info.
