Hi,

I have a used marantz pm11s2 (120v version) for sale in champagne/gold finish . It is in almost perfect/mint condition, like brand new out of the box. Just one minor tiny mark( right below the power button , that can be noticed only from very close (few inches) Pets/kids/smoke free home!

I am not from USA ( i am from EUROPE) and i have bought this amp from usa dealer 5 years ago (http://www.idealacoustics.com/) through audiogon.First owner and I have the original box and all the documents that comes with it,from the factory. I have been using this amplifier
in my country with an isolation step down transformer for all these years without any operational issues since it is for different voltage network!

More details about this integrated amplifier from the official US marantz website
http://us.marantz.com/us/Products/Pages/ProductDetails.aspx?CatId=ReferenceSeries&ProductId=PM11S2
manual in pdf http://us.marantz.com/DocumentMaster/US/PM-11S2_UN_EN.pdf

I will post pictures in high resolution in a few days (with that mentioned tiny mark)!

PRICE 1700 $USD MSRP 4500 $USD

(My asking price includes shipping costs to USA and CANADA !)
Shipping service with tracking http://www.ems.post/ems

audiogon bluebook .png

Check AUDIOGON bluebook price history for Marantz pm11 s2 from few weeks ago !

Those that are not familiar with Bluebook explanation here

''.......Audio Bluebook's extensive database of high-end audio products offers instant access to everything you need to know to set the right price. Year of release, retail price, private party value, trade-in value and our own Agon Average, which uses Audiogon's proprietary market data to determine the recommended real market value......."

Last price in february 2016 for a unit was 1450 USD$ that was registered through their database system , although bluebook does not give information about the actual physical condition of the unit and all other necessary details that can affect the price (first/second owner, scratches etc....)

AS I MENTIONED PICTURES OF MY UNIT IN FEW DAYS !

here are attached ONLY FEW pictures of the amplifier as promised

the pictures are very big in size and because of the limitations on this forum the whole gallery of 63 high resolution pictures- all downloadable of this amplifier (made on daylight ) can be found on the following link. I am not very good in photography but i gave my best to capture the real physical condition of this unit and its beauty from all the angles as faithfull as possible! THE resolution is 2592 x 1944 and the whole collection is almost 130MB!

https://imageshack.com/user/caci4567

All the documents and items that come with the amp are there too (manual , remote, cable) I WILL INCLUDE A MARANTZ PREMIUM RANGE CATALOG OF 2010 which is printed on very high quality paper for free

I will post pictures of the original box next week , because the box is in the basement of my second apartment !

REASON FOR SALE OF THIS AMP IS BECAUSE I NEED MONEY FOR ANOTHER HOT DEAL OTHERWISE THIS BEAUTY WILL NOT GO !! AS I SAID THE AMP IS LIKE MINT WITH EXCEPTION OF THAT MARK UNDER THE POWER BUTTON

This deal will also be announced on AUDIOGON in a week or two

Thanks for your interest

Just a few(very interesting) notes and excerpts from the marantz pm11s3 review from audioholics website regarding their findings in measurement differences between marantz pm11 s2 vs latest s3 version

"...All measurements were conducted using our Audio Precision APx585 8 Channel HDMI Audio Analyzer following our rigid Amplifier Measurement Test Protocol. I also had this model’s predecessor (PM-11S2) on hand to do some comparisons. I started the test suites with some basic preamp measurements......."

" .....I measured 17.7dB voltage gain from the preamp outputs of the PM-11S3. It was able to output 3.5Vrms unclipped which should be enough to drive virtually any modern amplifier into clipping. Interesting, however, was that the PM-11S2 was able to muster a bit more output voltage than the 11S3 and at a lower distortion (.005% IMD on the 11S2 vs .01% IMD on the 11S2) but this is mostly academic....."

".....Surprisingly however, the PM-11S2 FFT distortion analysis was a great deal lower. On similar tests the PM-11S2 measured a whopping -20dB lower in distortion. It seems apparent to me that the 11S2 employed higher quality op-amps for the pre-outs......"

"......Despite the fact that both the PM-11S3 and PM-11S2 were driven with the same signal levels, the 11S2 clearly exhibited lower distortion. Regardless, the 11S3 still produced solid results and I believe that the more robust analog preamp section not the phono preamp alone contributed to the lower distortion in the 11S2. ......."

"....The ruler flat frequency response (-0.8dB at 60kHz and -1.5dB at 10Hz) of the PM-11S3 indicated excellent bandwidth linearity. Interestingly the PM-11S2 didn’t exhibit the slight low frequency rolloff below 20Hz that the 11S3 did...."

"....The PM-11S3 slightly outshined its PM11S2 predecessor as it consistently produced between 6-7% more power for all of these sweep tests under the same load and distortion conditions....."

The whole review with all the measurements and graphs here http://www.audioholics.com/amplifier-reviews/marantz-pm-11s3/measurements

=======================================================================================
Despite the measurement difference and although the measurement and specs don't tell the whole story, audioholics didn't make a direct shootout in practice so we can see how this measurements reflect in sound quality . That would have been great and it's really a pity that most reviewers rarely make direct comparisons between successive revisions of the same components. I haven't been able to find such a review on the internet nor in any hifi magazine throughout the years where both of these units have been compared in practice! I haven't had a chance to compare the pm11s2 vs s3

The most important changes in electronic parts between pm11s2 and pm11s3 are summarized on the following official marantz japan link(translation needed)
https://www.marantz.jp/jp/11s3special/pm-11s3.html

In short :
1)bigger toroidal transformer (although the s2 version was already oversized as Ishiwata has mentioned on few occasions, the s3 has 950VA capacity) ,
2) new speaker binding post SPKT-100,
3) change in digital volume control IC= from Wolfson WM8816 to Micro Analog Systems MAS6116 (probably because the wolfson has been discontinued years ago, the MAS6116 clone is not better in any way!) ,
4) new HDAM-SA type of buffer stage , but still the same HDAM SA3 modules as in s2 version .

PLUS pm11s3 has Power Amp Direct inputs which gives the flexibility of using it as power amp alone

Another very good review with complete measurements from pm11s3 here
