My father told me about the 1939-40 NY World's Fair and the Futurama in the early 1960s when the 1964-65 World's Fair was in NY. It will take at least until 2040 for the vision of the previous World's Fair to become realized.

When they envisioned the Futurama, they expected it would come to be in the next few decades. We're long past that and nowhere near realizing it now.

Looks like a creepy future to me especially when my dream of retirement is that of being surrounded by nature and not more tech.
