Anyone remember what a mall used to look like in the 1970's? Thank GOD they no longer look like that. Finally, high end audio gear is coming out the 70's, look-wise.

Most of us would agree that great high end audio design means that gear works great and is easy to use. But when these 2 goals are satisfied, great visual design makes things more enjoyable and more pleasurable.

Do speaker designers utilize curves for enhanced functionality or for pure aesthetic pleasure, which reinforces the intrinsic qualities via great visual design?

I would think a combination of both. Corners with a bevels or a radias are much better difraction wise as an example. It's also nice to get away from the plain box shape.
