Ok so Meat Loaf - Bat out of Hell is err was my secret guilty pleasure album.
Problem is to say the recordings are crud is an understatement.

With that in mind I have been trying to track down the 2003 remaster from the original tapes, but strangely it is one of the versions I cannot see sold anywhere.
The one I am after is specifically: http://www.discogs.com/Meat-Loaf-Bat-Out-Of-Hell/release/3632802
http://www.discogs.com/viewimages?release=3632802

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also if you did not know, http://www.discogs.com is great for identifying the stupid amount of releases done when trying to track a specific one; I swear Bat Out of Hell must be close to the record for reissues :)
Wonder if this started the loudness-compression war doh.

Cheers

Well I managed to buy the Collectors Edition for £5 woot, at least it is listenable and enjoyable compared to the later releases that seem available.
Still suffers the rare (not often) wincing compression in some places, which I assume relates to it starting on 16track and when taken home by Todd Rundgren was reduced to 8track.
Definitely not audiophile haha, but thank goodness at least can appreciate it.

Collectors Edition is the following:

Anyway, if anyone sees the 2003 remastered from original tapes anywhere please let me know as it should be the best.

In the meantime if you like me was an idiot and gave up LPs some time ago and looking for a digital version, the Collectors Edition is probably the 2nd best out there.
