Guess that's why HP is gone. Town's not big enough for the two of them.

Wouldn't have been interesting if Valin had done the piece instead of Neil?

Looks like he dug down below the old basement floor to get more ceiling height, doesn't it? That's a pretty big commitment. Any idea why the two windows- shown open in what I assume are the rear corner sidewalls? That's gotta have some effect on the bass, no?

Great to know in detail about the listening room of one of my favorite reviewers. I am sure everyone will understand now why Jacob Heilbrunn needs superlative in his reviews!

they look like diffusors rather than windows

Steve, I'm attaching a copy of the image i'm referring to- to be sure we are talking about the same thing, maybe they have some diffusion properties, but they certainly look like windows.

-- Anyone recognizes some 'common' components owned also by Michael Fremer?
...In Michael's own music listening room.

* There is some serious money invested in that system!

____________

Also, guess how far from the floor are the main listener's ears?

Steve,
Perhaps not. Picture taken from the polish audiolifestyle blog http://audiolifestyle.blogspot.pt/2012/05/pokoj-jacoba.html
Unless that man is very short, the picture reveals the true height of the ceilngs and scale of the room. That's marvelous!
And, I agree with MEP that it is a glorious looking room. I like the simplicity of the design. I'd prefer not to have components between the speakers, and would relegate stuff like the record cleaner to another room, partly to eliminate clutter, but those are quibbles.

Impressive! This set-up tests the boundaries of jealousy and envy. I guess I am happy I proclaimed JH my favorite reviewer, a couple of years go, here at WBF - hey, I had to brag about something, if it couldn't be my system :D
