Wadia released the Intuition 01 at CES 2013. It includes a number of very interesting new technologies which I hope will be offered as upgrades for the rest of the line (or at least the 9-series).
- 384/32 PCM USB input
- Native DSD via USB
- New improved Delta-Sigmaster digital filter

Its also an integrated amp with 350 wpc and half the price of the devialet at $8,500. It looks good.

Great news for Wadia fans and wow! Too bad it looks like no upgrades, but one has to buy into the Wadia future (I could be mistaken).

Hasn't Wadia historically been a very unstable company with a poor record of customer service?

If the "new Wadia" will not offer upgrades on products from "old Wadia" - I am out and will not buy any of their future products. They have to take care of their current customer base.

Heard from RELIABLE sources who have actually heard the Wadia Intitution and ALSO compared it with the Devialet that the Intution is a more serious and better sounding product at nearly half the price. My friend who heard both, actually made a very bold statement that the Intitution blows the Devialet out of the park. Realibity of what was said is 101% and not 100%. The new King is what he said. This is a new catageory and a new design which will not be upgradable to the older designs. The details are as under for the Intitution.
High power output and excellent current delivery: 350 watts per channel
via Class D+ technology. High resolution USB input: 384 kHz/32 bit. Native DSD playback via USB
1) Power: 350W + 350W , 1%THD , Load 4 Ohm
2) Upsampling: 1.536 MHz Wadia Delta-SigMaster FIR 32 bit
upsampling algorithm
3) Digital to analog: 32bit ESS 9018 SabreDAC Industry Reference
4) Frequency response: 3hz - 45khz (-3db) for 1w @ 8 ohm
5) S/N: 113dbA (20-20k hz A weighted)
6) Jitter: below 1pS RMS
7) Distorsion: < 0,005% (THD, DIM, SMPTE)
8) 7 Digital Inputs: 1xUSB, 1xTOSLINK Optical, 2xWadialink(I2S), 1xAES/EBU,
2x Coaxial S/PDIF (RCA) , 2x Analog

I loved my old GNSC modded Wadia S7i as a CDP, but not as a preamp. Hopefully, the new Intuition does not sound like old Wadia (as preamp).

It is a completely new design with new thinking and the first of many new thoughts I was told. Nothing like the old Wadia. My friend has ordered one and will get a chance to hear it in the new future. Should be an interesting battle between Devialet especially as they have announced new and more reasponsible priced products at the Munich Show with an upgrade in technology. Tough call unless you hear both but at the price the Intitution is a new direction.

My ModWright Oppo 105 kills my $32K Burmester 089 and $18K GNSC Wadia S7i. Seriously.

Sh-t...that is pretty seriously good stuff! If I saw you write this before, somehow I forgot. Did you sell the Burmester and Wadia?

Northstar (very well liked Italian audio company;) ) is very perceptive. My point is to let people know their options to SOTA.
