Colored vinyl vs. Black vinyl sound quality

FWIW, I found a copy of that old Dave Mason record that looks like somebody puked on the platter. At some point, i'll compare it to the later, normal black vinyl pressings I have. Musically, it is a great record with a number of terrific songs.

"Ha! Yes, especially multiple color or marbled vinyls have a higher potential for surface noise. What most people don't know or acknowledge is that all vinyl starts as clear. So you would think clear should have the best sound quality because it has no pigments added but many swear by black.

That jives with the thinking behind Classic Records' Clarity vinyl.
