The tape you sent me with two selections is one of the best transcriptions I have ever heard. Tonality on the solo instruments is just right - and the trumpet dynamics have to be heard to believe. It's my new "system test"!

There are no plans for a commercial release of the live jazz that I've recorded in November and December. We might do a studio recording in the same club in the next month or two. I'll post news if anything comes of these plans.

Line Level Microphones

Hi Sam
Here is a pic of the 1957 vintage microphones(one shown). The capsule is a B&K 1/2 inch measurement capsule in an RF circuit. The power supply/amp has one 12BH7 tube and NO transformers. The 50 foot cable is part of the tuned RF circuit and can't be added on to. Nunn used them going directly into his Magnecorder(high impedance input). I'm running mine into a pretty low impedance(Korg), which is sub-optimal. I'm sort of surprised it is working at all :)

Jazz 24/192 sample

Hello Rich,

I tried the links you posted but neither worked for me. Is there a way to get any analog tapes? I am a jazz lover and would be more than interested in hearing this for myself. Thanks much.

Hi jazzbo bob,

The links are working fine. I listened to the WAV file in my browser before downloading the DSD file. Be aware these are large files and may not play by simply clicking on them. You'll need to click your right mouse button on the file name and 'Save Linked File As', naming the files as you'd like and saving them to an appropriate location on your computer.

You will also need to ensure you have an application that will play DSD files. I'm using Korg AudioGate.
(You may want to have a quick read through this site while you're at it; http://dsd-guide.com/)

Did you have any luck getting to download them Jazzbo Bob?

I can't seem to get through the link at all either to download them.
