What turntables do you use? Pictures would be nice as well :-)

Hi Karel,
Is the airbearing something you made or purchased? You mentioned motor management a la Lenco, are you using a similar idler wheel with an airbearing?

Hi David.
FYI
Yes, all home-hand-made; idea, concept plan, protos, one heavy TT-unit .... crazy-Méga-cool-realization (for the grandchildren).
Motor management: yes, same Lenco-concept .... but heavier & longer. Possible with Lenco-motor-rim-drive

The basic idea was "do something different with a (old) Lenco-TT" ....

Sorry, I think that we are "out of topic-trhead" ...

?egacool for the grownups too :)

If anything worries me, it is the complete apparent lack of suspension/isolation. Any plans for a dedicated isolating stand?

Sorry for my late respons.

Hi.
Between the table-base & the three air bearing points supports (funny leek plugs) & motor unit points support I used a metal plate with cork …. a "minute" (isolated) fixing/support ….
The TT & center axe is (quasi) completely free in the air (tol. in the nano-meter).
My experience in this case; In a normal (domestic) environment (good stable parquet floor) its acceptable (efficient) ….
Of course, other stand-concepts are better …. (but this was not my goal).
In fine, to day, no idea or plans for a dedicated stand ....
I am (very) happy with a High standard ....

Eventually got around to install the faceplate for the pressure hoses of the air bearing. Feels like finally tidying up... :)

Superb lighting and focus on your photograph, Jackelsson. Do you have two Pass XP25s to support all four arms or do you switch phono cables? Also, it looks as though your DIY air bearing platform is located so that the center of mass is equidistant from each of the four air bladders. How did you calculate that? Great looking DIY project. Do you need to adjust the air pressure very frequently?

Yes, it's two XP-25, so it's just flicking a switch and not fiddeling around with phono cables.

Finding the center of mass on the air suspension platform is actually not too difficult: figure out roughly where the pneumatic springs need to sit, then bring them to the exact same pressure, then move the turntable around until the platform is level, done.

Air needs to be adjusted ca. every two months, but just ever so slightly.
