High Resolution Music Downloads from MARecordings

Todd Garfinkle has been doing high-resolution recordings since 1992. While everyone else was excited about 20bit/44.1kHz, or 24bit/48kHz, Todd was already recording in 24bit/96kHz with a prototype recorder. Todd also records only with two mics, and captures the acoustic space of the recording venue that way.

I've persuaded Todd to make available samples of the MA Recordings music in high resolution for WBF. They will be in the next few posts.

To see a video of Todd making a recording, please have a look at this YouTube video here:

I am format agnostic, a full-time music-lover and a part-time audiophile. I listen to as much digital as analog, and prefer the better sounding music. I work hard at hunting down the best sounding copy of the music I love. Most of the time (as of mid-2015), I prefer the analog version when both are available.

I thought it sounded night and day different with the nod going towards the live for the very reason that it sounded live instead of a canned playback.

That track was part of a CD that was provided to all attendees at last year's (2011) TAVES show. One of my fave tracks on that CD.
I love the smell of vinyl in the morning!
