I saw this yesterday at The Pantages in Los Angeles with my wife
I waited for 2 months to see the show as I have heard only wonderful things about it, including Best Musical Tony Award on Broadway and a total of 9 Tony awards.
Needless to say I was juiced. I had great seats and waited expectantly.
Well the show was good, but IMHO, not great. The comedy was typical South Park humor and filled with expletives and if this offends you, the show is not for you
The premise of the story is cute with two Mormon missionaries being assigned to their much awaited mission and rather than getting Orlando which Elder Price wanted both he and his other missionary partner, Elder Cunningham get assigned to "Uganda" so let the fun begin
IMO the star of the show is the short, somewhat gregarious actor playing Elder Cunningham. He was funny. Many lines were indeed jaw dropping funny but when all was said and done, IMO there have been far greater musicals coming out of Broadway than this one
Tickets were not cheap as I bought through Stubhub as none were available at the theater.
Would I recommend the show......a somewhat "reticent" yes but of course you might think completely different. Nonetheless a fun afternoon.
Was it just me in my opinion of this show or did I get it all wrong
