    Limited Editions

I would be interested in knowing what the community thinks about limited edition watches - typically such watches are also individually numbered not only with a serial number, but also with its number within the total number of watches produced in the edition - e.g. No. 89/134.

Here is an example of a limited edition piece made by Blancpain for the 100th anniversary of the infamous Peking to Paris road race in 2007.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts on this or on any other limited edition watch or on limited edition watches in general.

I don't own a limited edition watch of any kind but looking at the pictures of all the watches you have shown here I would be happy with any of them.

As an aside Alex, how many watches are in your collection

Limited editions are nice to have and hold a better resell value, I have a Bvlgary Mexico City Limited Edition and an Ikepod Megapod Ltd which are nice pieces to collect.

    This may be of interest:

    Go to www.pbase.com/bobbyw
Then go to the gallery titled "It's a Small Small World"
Then scroll down to "Eternity in an Hour"

Yes. I know both the photographer and the owner of the watches.

My take: items designated as collectible typically aren't. The "limited issue" designation only means that there is a small supply. It doesn't guarantee that there is any particular demand compared to another model. I think Blancpains are great but the company doesn't crank out large quanities of any model.
