Greg:

George also did a lot of work for David Chesky -- and don't forget his small signal tube tester.

I'll let George fill in about his stuff for David but there was some pretty neat things going on there!

Interesting.. the 600 in the center has a power transformer and output stage/heatsink fan assembly identical to the Hafler 500 amplifiers.. Those are probably 2SJ56 and 2SK176 MOSFETs in the output stage. I just did a full PM on all four of my Haflers and so they're components' appearance and size are totally fresh in my consciousness.

I'm sure these amps sound great. The MOSFET output is very clean and musical and I use them exclusively for MF and HF use for that reason.

The real test for audio equipment is after all the hoopla do you come home after work turn it on and and get a big smile on your face. The Moscode always passed that test.

Absolutely. Every time. Depending on the music, the range of emotions can span a wide gamut.
Anecdote: a lady friend of our family who owns mostly Denon electronics and B&W 802 speakers, comes over here with her CDs when she really wants to listen seriously to the music. I have a lot of friends that do that on a semi-regular basis.

Not to be misleading. That price is for a review sample for sale on Audiogon. List price $6500 plus upgrade. Still the best bargain in audiophile amplifiers.
