You have me again Myles. I knew a dealer who carried the minimonitor. He offered it as competiton to the Spica TC-50 I beleive. It never took off.

:) Spica and the cj Synthesis speakers were similar!

Spica had tamed the ubiquitous Audax tweeter.

I too owned a couple of TC-50's. At $550, a real steal but in retrospect, I suspect that it's great soundstage was achieved, in part, by a recessed midrange that gave a laid back, easy on the ear presentation. What some may forget is that Spica also produced a dedicated sub that didn't really go that low but blended seamlessly with the TC 50.

The TC 50s introduced me to a big soundstage, but the sub barely did anything even turned all the way up.

The real steal were the $600 Sound Dynamics speakers that HP reviewed. :)

I have a pair of those I just gave to my son.

Don't know how they did it for that price :) Way before the days of China.
