Chad's life is heaven to a lot of record lovers. Business is his hobby and hobby is his business. How good can it get? I began corresponding with Acoustic Sounds in the late 80s and that time, his catalog was just a typical bond paper that was typewritten.

$250 for a UHQR Mofi then was already staggering. :D

And look at Chad's company today. Wow. And congrats on his 25th year in business. Nice video.

$250 for a Supertramp recording would be the crime of the century.

It's MoFi UHQR version. $250.00 was a fair price. I won it sealed for $350.00 back in 2010. Worth every penny.

Thanks for sharing Myles. I have been accumulating all the classic record test presses I can get my hands on.

.

$250 in 1988. So $350 in 2010, sealed at that, seems pretty much a bargain. I've seen some Beatles UHQRs run to 4 figures easily the last few years.

as the story goes he ran copies of these lists at 7-eleven, i have few of these and the earliest catalogs from bob bantz of the elusive disc and tom port of better records. both tom and bob started well before chad did. back in the day chad and i would bs for 2-hrs on the phone, we spent most of it talking about life and records. he was surpised i remember a lot of those conversations 25-yrs later when we met up at the newport show. try calling him today, id be surpised if he had 2-mins to talk to his wife :)

The UHQRs were a bit more expensive. And look what they're going for now!
