    IMO prescription strength prenatal vitamins have everything one needs including all of the vitamins, minerals, including Ca, Mg Fe and Folic acid.

    One per day but big horse pills but no shakes etc.

    BTW you also get the ones which now contain DHA which is the buzz thing now for prenatal brain development.Sort of like fish oil for the fetus

    One question is does the pill then include 1000 mg Ca? The reason I ask is that it's now recommended not to take >500mg at a time. And as not all Ca forumulations are the same, one can check to see if the Ca pill is fully dissolving in the stomach by taking one pill, putting it in acetic acid and stirring it every so often for 30 mins. If it dissolves, chances are it will in your stomach; if not, then need to look for a new Ca pill

    good question

    Simple answer is that most but not all contain NO calcium. Those that do have IIRC under 500 mg

    Thanks was just kind of curious. Never asked or investigated the vitamins prescribed for my prenatal clients.
