I think they look absolutly beautiful and the small size is a plus. I hope that I will be able to test the coming preamp with the monos.

That's a plus in my book. I'd love to hear it.

The new D'Agostino Momentum Stereo amplifier is now playing in our distributor listening room. I have not listened to it yet, but a few friends who had were really impressed.
Did any of our members listen to it?

I heard the D'Agostino amps driving the Sashas at last years RMAF. It made my ears bleed.

I have now heard the Momentum monos and the stereo...i prefer the latter. The stereo was (unfairly) up against one of the new ARC stereo (non-Ref) amps. It made the ARC feel like a dull blade...the moment the Momentum stereo went in...blam!...100% improvement in transparency, 50% better separation of instrumentation, delineation, ability to follow lines of music, 40% better extension, detail and decay. The music came to life.

And the ARC is a great amp...

The monos were in the same room, nearly the identical system...more accomplished but less 'soulfulness' about the music. More accurate-seeming but not more 'truthful'. There is a purity and still warmth to the stereo which i personally prefer...however, i feel highly confident you could place the monos in a different system and create magic. Very special. Far, far more grainless and refined than the Krells for which he became famous.

It seems the rumors were true ...

So we now have four contenders in the stereo class for solid state amplifiers with great tube-like sound - the Gryphon Colosseum, the Dartzeel 108, the Burmester 911 mk3 and the Momemtum stereo.

No offense. I hsve heard the Dartzeel, Burmeister and the Momentum. I would not call them tube-like. That should not give you any pause. They are all great in thier own right.

    Greg,

Did not you notice the ?

I am one those audiophiles that do not believe there is a tube sound - there is a sound due to the implementation of circuits and the system conditions.
But we must remember that many reviewers had described some of the amplifiers I refer as "having the good things of good tube amplifiers with the qualities of solid state amplifiers". We can disagree but this means something.

What about the Soulution? Or the big PASS's?
