    Realism...How real? Completely three dimensional,with time and space at a level where the illusion passes from stereo to virtual reality. I truly doubt any bookshelf or speaker below 4 feet can achieve sound reproduction like this. I also think a room correction circuit is needed. My speakers are about 5 feet tall and then my time and phase correction speakers are mounted above them,so in my system the speakers are almost eight feet high. That seems to do the trick.

I will say that the system in which I am referring too gave many hours of listening pleasure that didn't have the right to sound as good as it did.
    Tom, interesting things can be done with 2 pairs of mains: Linkwitz is playing with that now, I started a thread on it.

    WATSON a "Stereo Enhancement Loudspeaker", SEL. An electronic time delay, an accessible volume control and a stereo power amplifier are needed for its application

    And directly related to room acoustics, same as their positioning on the horizontal plane.

    The sound waves at the sweet spot corroborate with definite measurements in the 3D acoustic space.
    Better driver's height in the proper loudspeakers for a given room's overall dimensions,
    including the height of its ceiling, the better the sound reproduction and music listening enjoyment.

    Soooo, YES!

    * And same with the drivers from your subwoofer(s);
    their height dictates their sound characteristic at the main listening position.
    100% correct, I have owned 66 & 94 inches high Acoustat's i loved both BUT there is something very special with ALL 94 inches models, here are a few pictures of me with my 1+1s and my friend's Spectra 6600s.

    Hello, Frank. Although I can respect that, the same issue(s) remains. Only with more issues and deficiencies introduced. Why bother?
    In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence.

    The best way to enjoy digital music reproduction is to never listen to a good analogue reproduction.

    I post my own opinions except when posting as a moderator in green.

    I purchased Magnapan speakers because they presented an image with what I consider the correct height. I got tired of listening to Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Choir at the 3 feet level.
