Hi to all,

Ref 750's are towers like the previous 610. Dimensions are similar and one significant difference is the presence of analog meters the same size used in the REF250 replacing the digital meter.

Source of info is from are local dealer and confirmed by Kalvin (customer rep.) of ARC.

Rumours in the net said that the Ref750 will go back to the traditional design similar to the REF 600.

I was hoping that they will build it like they use to ( just like your old REF 600) . I hope your right Steve.

Problem was the heat they gave off into the chassis and then the room. Still these and the 610T also gave off immense heat so much so that I had to put a 3rd central AC in the house serving that room only. I loved my Ref 600 Mk lll

My friend ordered the REF 750 and he told me its coming to our country before the end of the month. He said that we are going to listen to his REF 610 upgraded w/ KT 120's 1st before installing the REF 750 fresh from the box. Our local dealer said that its going to be unfair comparison because the new amp needs to be broken in. Will give you guys an update once we auditon it in his dedicated listening room.

Is your friend keeping the 610T

Is he using an ARC preamp

No his going to trade in the REF 610's and our dealer whose also a close friend of ours allowed us to do the comparison before he takes the 610. The guy's preamp consist of the ARC REF Phono 2 , ARC REF 40 anniversary linestage . My friend ordered the upgrade for the REF Phono 2 ( also arriving together w/ the REF750) but he wont have it installed yet .He was thinking of having the REF Phono 2 upgrade installed after breaking in the REF750.

Your friend needs to see the new ARC Reference DAC.

The CD8, when followed by a REF Anniversary in an ARC system, can sound much better than it should ...

The cd player is used primarily to warm up the system or to break in new components.

Luxury warm up... Can we ask what is the remaining system?

A good friend of mine once told me that, if we are prepared to accept the foreseen limitations in maximum loudness and deep bass. an ARC REF 610 driving a pair of Mini2's would kill any system, irrespective of price. How should they sound with the REF750?
