Thanks Steve. Im stil new in this posting of pictures. I will try your suggestion and adjust the size of the images. The system still needs to be tuned. Its a 6 x 4 meter room with a 9ft ceiling height. Its still a little bass heavy specially when using the TNT 6, Koetsu combo. I installed some DIY resonators last night and there was a big improvement in the bass. The bass became articulate. The mid range and highs opened up. When sitted on the sweet spot the bass heaviness were eliminated. Imaging and soundstage improved.

hi tdh888,

if you have uploaded your pics via photobucket.com you can resize it right there by clicking on edit and then resize. or set your camera to something like 3M instead of the bigger megapixel sizes when shooting. happy new year too.

Hi Myles,

The preamps are the SP11 MK 2 (silver) and the SP10 MK2 ( Black)
The X Over is the EC 21 use for the MG3A
The amps are the following :
Those w/ the instruments in the faceplates are a pair of D79B's. Behind it is the D250MK2 a Servo. Right after the it are the Classic 150 .mono blocks.

By the way Myles I followed your advice regarding the Classic Aluminum Platter, Periphery Ring & HRX center weight. There was a big improvement w / regards to the sonics. Recent upgrade done to the TNT6 was I installed the Kuzma Stogi Ref 313 VTA.

I always liked the D250Servos! Nice collection?

Glad to hear platter worked out! You should try the Hi-Fi Tuning center weight. Much better than the VPI weight.

Hi to all ,

I sold my GyroDec ( w/ all upgrades including the Orbe platter) w/c. I've been using since the mid 80's. This is my latest acquisition . It's a major upgrade w/ regards to performance. I'm quite happy w/ the sound.

Hi guys,

After waiting for 6 months , I've finally acquired an audio research REF Phono 2SE . It sounds quite good and it's a great match w/ the rest of my equipment. Here's some pictures.

Congratulations. The acquisition of a REF phono 2 forced me to re-think the quality of vinyl and since them several owners told me the SE unit is better. The use of FETs at the input coupled with tubes helps making an exceptional preamplifier, that when used in all ARC system is very hard to surpass. Besides, the convenience of changing the loading setting using the remote is great.

May I ask what happened to your Magnepans?

Hi Mullard88,

The Magnepans are still w/ me , I'm using it w/ my vintage ARC equipment ( SP 10MK 2 , a pair of D79B's , EC 21 X Over ) it's not getting that much use this days. Enjoying the main system. Probably will recapp the D79B's in the near future so they will perform better when driving the MG3A .

Thanks Microstrip,

I was using the SP 10 as my phonostage w/ my REF 5 the sound was ok but I knew I needed a REF Phono 2 in order to optimize the performance of my system. I agree w/ you regarding the use of JFET and tubes in order to unleash the full potential of Low output MC's . The REF Phono 2 indeed is a great phonostage.
