Many people may know this already but here it goes anyway :).

One of the simplest tweaks is to turn off all the front panel displays and video circuits (if there is one) in your source and processors. Most equipment has modes for these (and or some kind of "direct play" mode). Test it if you can with a headphone so that you can hear the difference.

Test it with something that has high frequency components and ambiance. You should notice improvements in both. If not, then you have well designed equipment or not perceptive enough :). Either way, it is good news as you don't have to worry about this.

I agree and turn off my displays always for extended listening
