This is a very preliminary report, since I'm only a portion of the way through the first film.
There has been heated debate on the net regarding the picture quality of the Blu-ray versions of these films. I'll state that there is a significant boost in clarity and detail, but not as consistent as one might hope. I'll post further when I've completed watching the entire set.
The real star here, and it's a no-brainer to say this, is the audio presentation. Sporting a DTS-MA 7.1 soundtrack, this version leaves the DVD releases in the dust. When you merely hear the jungle environment during the "Universal" logo screen at the film's beginning, you instantly know you're in for a demo-quality ride. Wow! is all I have to say.
