Now, of course, that depends upon the content and whether we're talking about peaks, and the frequency thereof, or sustain levels, doesn't it. Rhetorical question, of course, because the fact of the matter is this statement of yours, without more, lacks context and data and, as such, is empty.
    Peace.

I thought the Tidal/U-Clock duo sounded very good.

I also thought the Burmeister CD player sounded very good.

I thought the Pink Floyd demo was much too loud and in your face, and the surround sound largely destroyed the front/back imaging! Anyone staying in that room too long may have experienced hearing damage - of course I believe the intent was to recreate a live rock concert.

To me, plain ole 2 channel stereo best recreates the live concert experience...not multi-channel surround.

I also liked the sound of the Playback Designs MPD-3 with native DSD files. The sound via the Evolution Acoustics was huge in room 1117.

Did Jonathan or Mike Spitz play the Louis Armstrong, St James Infirmary on 1/2" R2R

In all my years of listening this was about as close to live as I have ever heard. A most amazing demo coming from Jonathan's little MicroMini speakers which IMO remains the best deal around for book shelf speakers in this price range

I may be wrong, but compared to the 2008 RMAF, I believe the 2011 RMAF had a smaller number of rooms and was not as well attended. I remember the hallways being very crowded on Saturday at the 2008 event and the Hyatt having many more rooms. I'm sure the bad economy is to blame.
