Just saw these "planar magnetic" headphones.. (like magnepan)
I've never heard of them. They're about $1k

They seem nicely made. Wish they had some measurement graphs though.

I have heard the Audeze LCD2 and the HiFi Man cans. They both sound very good but then I am a Maggie guy so what do you expect?

Headphone.com does a nice job of measuring headphones they sell. They've measured and published the graphs for the Hifiman, Audeze headphones in question as well as pretty much everything else. I just checked the curves for my Ultrasone Edition 8s. Still trying to figure out how to reconcile 50 and 500 Hz square wave response with what I hear. FWIW, they also publish frequency response, harmonic distortion, isolation, and impedance curves.

The Audeze LCD2's have a midrange to die for - so natural, but their bass is kind of weak and lacks wallop.
