Near Atlanta, GA but not too near!
is there any reason to think there will be problems

History tell me it may not be as good.

Based upon previous Blurays I purchased where I already had the DVD, there are no guarantees that the Bluray will significantly better (e.g. War of The Worlds). In fact, in that case, the lower bass was not as good. Same thing happened with the audio on a couple of others (e.g the cannon shots in Master and Commander was not even close to the DVD -- you can find these comparison on various web sites).

Video transfers done earlier than 5-6 years ago unfortunately are not up to par with the expectations we have for fidelity. Good example was Lord of The Rings. The master was in really bad shape. Clean up got rid of artifacts, but made the video artificial. It is quite an art to balance the two ends. And LOTR is not an ancient movie and certainly newer than Star Wars.

I have the LOTR blu ray set. I like it, but visually, it doesn't seem significantly better than the DVD. Being an audio luddite who only listens to two channel and refuses surround sound (and tweeting), I can't comment on the audio.

Am I the only one that thinks the added CGI elements in Episode IV grossly stuck out like sore thumbs?

I just got the Star Wars blu ray set this morning. It's really impressively done.

I received the full saga delivered from Amazon yesterday. I watched The Phantom Menace last evening and was quite pleased with both the video and the audio presentation. I know that a lot of people have expressed disappointment of the DNR used to "scrub" the film, but I did not find it objectionable. With my system and configuration I thought it was a 4 plus out of 5 for video and a 4.5 possibly higher out of 5 for audio.

I hope to watch at least a couple more of the episodes today and some tomorrow.
