Per listener request, he is a quick little article explaining what a driver is in the context of music applications: http://www.madronadigital.com/Library/DeviceDrivers.html

As always, comments, questions, and spelling corrections are welcome :).

Amir,

For me a driver is a medium power transistor or tube supplying an adequate signal to excite the output stage . Modern times ...

Very nice and useful explanation, many thanks!

I am not following you mark. This is the first sentence:

"Hang around people building music servers and computer programmers and sooner or later you hear the term “driver.” What is a driver anyway? To learn that, we need to first look at how computer systems are put together."

The forth word is not "he." Can you please quote the full sentence so that I can fix it? Thanks in advance.

Amir-I'm not even talking about the paper you wrote. Look at what I quoted you saying about the paper.

Oh, I fixed that just now but my request in that regard was for the article. I assume you all are used to my misspellings on this forum :D.
