My wife bought this last night (a surprise as she usually does not buy Blu-rays):

My verdict: fairly boring and cliche story with a bit of update.
    My wife: she liked it.

The only thing that clicked for me was the beautiful shots of a home/zoo, making you want to retire there. The little girl is also awfully cute. She has a good future in movies.

Good rental if you are watching with family/kids.

Cameron Crowe, the director, makes movies that are appealing to female audiences.

    Ok Ron.

'Almost Famous' is his best film; for me as well.

    * Before he started directing films, Cameron Crowe was a contributing editor (writer)

Inglorious Basterds - interesting. Wasn't expecting it to be as graphic as it was though. Thought Brad Pitt was pretty good in it.
Charlie Wilson's War - One of my favourite movies. Phillip Seymour Hoffman was terrific.
I love the smell of vinyl in the morning!

John Adrian Spijkers - "Live Life! Leave A Legacy!"

Knew that, as I remember reading him. Though, I admit, I may not have known his age at the time.

I thought it was a very fresh take and movie. Very enjoyable.

I did like it as well, at least in terms of the whole movie, but the "scalping" part got to me. I readily admit I do not like that kind of graphic imagery.

--> Directed by Martin Charles Scorsese (1988).
    * That was a rewatch of course; and the timing was right for me.

    - Ron, yes, Cameron Crowe is a relatively young fellow (born in 57).

    - 'Inglourious Basterds' is a film acted with verve, humor, and built with the right momentum.
The war is represented in Tarantino's true spirit; his own vision.
And of course I'm a big fan of his and all his films are part of my Blu collection.
Quentin is big on narration, and that I luv.

    * Directed by Mel Gibson (2004). ...Monica Bellucci, oui , starred in that film.
And Mel, well, is the famous actor/director ('Braveheart', 'Apocalypto', and others).
