Bruce Brown, Owner/Engineer at Puget Sound Studios is a long time audiophile, musician and mastering engineer. Bruce majored in piano/clarinet and taught H.S. band and toured with a few bands in the 80’s. Being an audiophile, he was always frustrated with the way digital was sounding and tried to make all his friends CD’s sound better. Bruce has been mastering and doing location recording for over 20 years. After a 2 year build of the only purpose-built mastering room in the Pacific NW capable of recording, editing and mastering in DSD and DXD, he’s still trying to make digital and analog sound better. Having done all the Hi-rez transfers for HDtracks and mastered for many audiophile labels, Bruce is at the cutting edge of digital and analog mastering techniques. Discussions will include all facets of recording, mixing, mastering and restoration for archival.
