Vibration is caused by the music played!
There is a lot of low frequence energy in the area were the amp's are placed.
I cannot place the amp's on another location.
The amp's are placed between the speakers like ack's setup.

Then most probably its feedback coming through the feet of equipment, not air borne feedback. IMHO in such case you should try isolating the amplifier, not silencing the cover with damping materials.

Do you have pictures of your situation ?

It's a spider rack.
I did several things to reduce vibrations but the pre and the power amp suffers the most.
Put some weight on the amps and place them on the ikea boards

I agree with microstrip , most likely speaker vibrations travelling through the floor to the amp stand ,what kind of floor is it underneath the carpet , is it a wooden floor or concrete underneath ?

I would try with the amps directly on the carpet /concrete of the rack but with spikes underneath and bring the rest of the equipment on the rack further down on the layers

The strange thing is that the equipment on higher layers don't vibrate that much!!

Any off you guys wanna do a speaker/subwoofer vibration test ?
Place a water glass on top off the speaker/housing and play ear deafening levels , see if you see wrinkles in the water ?

I use a Seismometer app for the iPad and there’d no danger of spilling the water into your components.
It’s pretty sensitive and easy to use.
Cheers

Thx Blue58 i will try.
To reduce the ringing of the heatsinks like ack mentioned i put some isolation pieces between the cooling ribs.
To prevent cooling issues i did the following:

Sorry to say but if you have to take measures like that, there is something wrong somewhere, do all spectral amps have this Problem ?

Nice room system , i like avalons too
There might be some low freq energy built up in that area
Are you sure you have a thick concrete floor ?
I would place the whole rack on a thick stone slab, not on the carpet directly

Could be that the (low freq ) soundwaves bounce of of your sloped ceiling and built up exxcesively in that area. .
Moving the rack more to the side and maybe also the speakers to another position might add to the solution,; plus not using the lower part of the rack

I think we're all crazy :-0
I've patented this....
It's cheap and helps ( material used is damping mat for washing machines).
