It's my understanding that a Faraday cage prevents things like RF, EMI or an EMP from getting in.

This tweak seems to prevent RF/EMI from getting out.

It looks both cheap and easy. Always a good combination! ;) Now, what is that sniffer the guy is using and where can we get them?

Not really. For example, when a transformer is encaged it's to prevent noise getting out.

Those things have been around for 20 years and were used to check correct AC line polarity (like the old Namiki or using a DVM). The "size" of the power transformer's magnetic field varies with AC plug polarity; thus one can "measure" it using this device.

Have one in my tool kit. Audio Advisor used to carry them.
