I want to understand that the new things appart of an increase in power may be find in the input stages, the pre-amp completely updated the XLR inputs and bettered several aspects and I read that the 488 also had this updates on input stages,... so is easy to think that this developments will also apply to the stereo amp

Anyway it would be good if Hervé explains in a document the differences.
Photos shown a different speakers terminal which is good news since the WBT can't accomodate the speakers terminal because of the plastic guide.

LoL

I spent a few hours last Saturday listening to the prototype. I was not prepared to say anything till he announced it to the world.

Total redesign of the NHB108.

It basically is a smaller version of the NHB-458.

The NHB468 is a best of both worlds version of the old 108 and the old 458.

Herve is very happy with the new 108.

can you share the context of your listening to the 468? did you have a feeling for the 458 from prior experiences?

Wisnon, you are a lucky one. Did you hear them in Switzerland?

In my opinion you to hear the final version in reality. Speculation is interesting, but does not help for judgment.

I asked Hervé too and heard only the model two comes sonically closer to the 458 with deeper bass. But what does this meen? In your mind everything and nothing.

Never heard the 468. It was the NHB-108 we played. Herve had to pass on his own 468 to a customer as he is back ordered. He can only make say 20 a year.

He merely explained to Golum and me how both the 108 V2 and the 468 were updates of the older models,

I live in CH and Herve is a pal. He is also an audiophile, so when he has a break from his hectic schedule, he does enjoy a good listening session. I was there to hear his stuff and also demo some tube gear with tube rolling joys. Great guy!

Not sure what you mean by final version. This was a FINISHED prototype, or rather the first commercial model. No speculation. It is the dual mono lower powered version of the 458 from a schematic point of view.

The logo on the 108 reads "model one", so it should be prototype not the commercial version I assume.

Nice pictures, thank you wisnon!

I only wonder how dark Hervé made his room. Like a home cinema...

Thanks for the details Wisnon . Your pictures show the Neutrik unbalancing transformer at the back board - as Herve suppressed it in version II of the preamplfier I expected him to banish it from the 108. Are those final boards?

I assume so. He told me its a model 2. Nevermind the chassis engraving.

Would it be possible to drive properly demanding speakers like my Thiel CS 3.7s with the 108 model 2 ?

What are the specs on those speakers? I could try to ask Herve. I hope to see him soon for an unrelated matter...
