How much is a used F-15? My niece's husband flies an F-15E Strike Eagle or some variation. He has the #2 seat. I didn't realize that the first F-15's debuted 45 years ago.

* The F-15 is very cheap compared to the Stealth B-2 Spirit or the F-22 Raptor.

Besides flying at 1875 mph, the statistic that looks crazy is being able to climb at 50,000 ft per minute. Max stress on the aircraft is 9G's.

Interesting that Saudi Arabia has 70 F-15's and their current enemy Qatar has 36 F-15's on order. If there is a dogfight, the F-15's perfect record is endangered. Raises questions about exporting technology, balance of payments, etc.

Also South Korea has 58 F-15's and Singapore! has 40. Compared to Israel with 25. Overall, the rest of the world has more F-15's than the US.

If Boeing were allowed to develop a non-military version of the F-15, I can see that would become the next hot purchase for the multibillionaire. At, say $100-200M a pop, more exciting than a yacht or a second, or third or fourth home. At its current range, you could go from SF to Chicago in a little more than an hour.
