but none of those 'suffer fools' or 'casual set-up' gladly. and show conditions are by definition 'casual set-up'. moving all that air puts much on the room and system is be aligned and worked out.

less 'action' will have greater margin for error or sins of omission as opposed to sins of commission. easier to live with what is missing in a show than what is hitting you in the face.

but......if you want it all, then these are the tools for that if you have the means/passion/patience to enable them.

I agree on all points!

At least the photos show them in rooms that will let the edifice type speakers breath so far. That's probably as important an anything.

I do agree that the comments on Audioexotics Forum are very one-sided. We don't have to take them too seriously. haha

The Audioexotics annual Gala is totally differnent.
The designers of all their brands are invited to set up their products in the rooms and be present during the 2 days to answer questions from attendants and as DJ to play selected music to demo their own products.

This year, all the designers were present, except Miguel of Troy and Lee Dalby of Audio Dalby Audio.
The 4 rooms are "open-house" and free to visit during the 2 days.
Attendants can bring their own CD/LP/files for demo.

The performance of hifi components at shows can never be optimal.
Unfamiliar rooms and limited time to set the systems up.
All the 4 rooms gave better performance on the 2nd day this year, after the systems had been played for 1 day and the designers could give them some fine-tuning.

I thank Chris Leung and J Lam of Audioexotics to organize such an great event annually.

I like Audio Exotics. They are boutique house excellent at marketing, branding and bumping up price. Apart from commercial stuff, they always have itches to go over the top and push designers. Excellent at picking wild cards too imo. A lot of rave in their forum. Not their fault that the fans rave and get very poetic on products they carry on their forum.

Is this JMF gear so good as to deserve a whole room to itself? I haven't heard of them, whereas I'm sure we're all pretty familiar w the other brands being shown.

I guess AE gives all the brands a chance to showcase their products.

For me myself, horns are not my cup of tea, but many AE customers are horn lovers.
