I've used a Single Ended Pentode (SEP) amplifier the last few years and have never tried a SET in my home system. I'd rather NOT have a space heater for an amplifier in my California home, but if that's what it takes to get better sound, then so be it. :)

After looking around, I've narrowed my choices down to a few brands, one of which is Lamm, and specifically one of their ML amplifiers. Are there any owners in the Bay Area that would be willing to let me hear it in their system?

Thanks for the offer and the welcome Steve! It's very tempting and will keep it in mind if I don't find anyone locally.
