Had the opportunity to see Sicario 2 today. The first one back in about 2015-6 was one of the better movies of that year. Seeing the trailer and seeing that Emily Blunt was not reprising her role gave me pause that this was going to be just a shoot-em-up flick. I must say I was pleasantly surprised that "Sicaro 2 - Soldado" was not what I had expected. I was fully engaged the entire film even if I was not totally satisfied with the ending. This one left a few open threads setting everything up for a #3.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I thought the same thing regarding Emily Blunt, her portrayal of that complicated character was superb.

Cool Jim.

I thought about Emily Blunt's character from the first film, the ending; and it was real tough to see her coming back and working with those guys...movie development wise. Her character would have needed some type of miracle, where her morals and principles took a 360 degree turn.

In the first film she was the gel. She made it all the more believable.
So I do understand the writer, where he's coming from.
