Black Panther earned $1 billion.

Avengers: Infinity War could well do the same:

Films based on comic books don't win Oscars, they win money.
Why is that? Most likely because they entertain the comic book readers...many many of us.
Comic sci-fi superheroes and villains are a fantastic escape to the real world which is completely the opposite...peace, harmony, just all good people, no evil, no powertrip, no big ego, no greed, no control of power, no individual and family enrichment, sharing of wealth with everyone, in particular with the ones in need, just honesty and integrity, no corruption, no lies, no bullying, no wars. ...In the regular norm, with some exceptions.

I'm looking forward to it, next April month.
May the infinite stones be with you ....

Anyone have seen this film yet; it has good reviews on average, and it's making lots of money just in its first opening weekend...like $640 million! That's only $360 million short of $1 billion! ...Next weekend.

68 on Metacritic; that's not bad.
69 on MRQE.

I've read a completely unrelated article this morning about journalists in Afghanistan.
I'm drawing a dissimilar parallel with movies based on comic books just to be aware of the differences in different parts of the world on what superheroes represent. In that perspective the impact of 'Avengers: Infinity War' is even more . . . arresting.

I saw it yesterday... I don't know.... I prefer nail-biting thrillers like Alien(s). I would say Avengers is average at best, but with some good messages...

I saw it today and happy to see a major difference than the others, only one fight scene. Two and a half hours long, but only one fight! :p
I give it an 8.5 out of 10, worth the watch, will own it on Blu-ray. Will be a good one for the 7.3.

Only for true Marvel hardcores, everyone else don't click that play button and later on telling me that I wasted some precious minutes of your cherished and ecstatic life. :b

This is our grand children's world, this is what makes money in Hollywood movie world. This is the comic superheroes collector's world.
...Just like when we were kids and collecting marbles, cards, all type of cards, music albums from Stravinsky, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Coltrane, Ellington, Monk, Davis, Evans, ...

I sure do appreciate that grownup men enjoyed to be entertained from the Avengers' latest flick @ the theater, like Black Panther.

Did some of you went for the IMAX 3D experience?

WW was surprisingly very good. Gorgeous Gal couldn't save Justice League from mediocrity though. I mean it wasn't awful, it had its moments but ultimately I thought it was just meh.

Yes, but so is puking in your mouth a little bit after watching Justice League.

I liked Infinity War, it's important to the whole MCU. It had good jokes in it. My fav movie? It's basically impossible to compare because it has such utterly different intentions.

One of my favorite film directors speak up on superhero comic book movies and Avengers: Infinity War.

https://theplaylist.net/terry-gilliam-avengers-infinity-war-20190322/

Do I agree with him? Overall you betcha...there's a kid inside all of us.
...Superheroes or not. But true, it's always the same movie, the same comic script, the same good versus bad, the same old western (find the gold kill the bad guys), the same war movie (everyone are left dead on the battlefield for a bag of cheetos).

Amazing that Gilliam enjoyed the one where the bad guy is the conqueror, vainquor, conquistador, the mariachi, the guy in the coliseum who won...the gladiator, the mateador who took the superheroes by the horns and squeezed them like lifeless bulls, and stealing their shining rocks/balls.

I'm also amazed that I rated it higher than any other bad guy flicks from comics.
It pas to be the fun kid in me. Plus it was awesome in 3D, more than in 4K. But that's me.

Aquaman in 3D? Kidman is in it, and I think she's one of the top best actress.
