Studer A80 VU MKII 1/4” 2-Track, Overall good working and physical condition. Has both 1/4” 2-track and Flux Magnetics 1/4-TK head installed in place of the record head to play 7” consumer tapes. Switch on head block selects 1/4 or 1/2 track playback.

Heads were relapped by JRF in 2011, have original record head if someone wanted to revert back to record capability.

Machine was well-cared for; has been in my dedicated audio room since purchased. There is some razor rash where an edit block was mounted (now removed) on the head cover, some paint loss on the lower cabinet cross brace (where everyone puts their feet when editing).

Includes power cord, electronics module blank overs, extra meter bulbs, custom (and removable) shelf that sits under transport for reel/accessory storage, test papers from JRF magnetics.

Currently in use and working, can demo. Only problem to address is the direction/speed switch was replaced last year and it favors RW vs FF. The switch should to be removed and re-indexed but it doesn’t affect winding in either direction.

$4700 or best offer. Pickup in central NJ.
