It seems that at this point of time the Leedh processing is not implemented in Audirvana. As far as I understand only soulution implemented this processing on their DAC. Did anybody have the opportunity to listen to a Soulution with Leedh processing ?

I tried twice to talk to the guys at Munich but they said nothing other than "we use it", if it were so good I would have expected much wide use of it. Pity, sounded promising.

This is weird ! They should be able to show with and without this processing. Very strange that there is not much feedback.

I had the chance to listen to the processing at home 2 years ago with a demo board in spdif and the performance was impresssive. I heard that some people are testing it with MAC solution (beta tests) but no opportunity to test from my side.

I was most excited as well. I have a Phasure Nos1a and it sounds better than Wadia S7i, the Chord DAVE/M scaler and event the mighty Resolution audio Cantata 3.0 but is extremely difficult to use it. It convinced me that volume in the digital domain is the right way to go and I was hoping that Leedh had done something similar yet in a more digestible package...

Hi guys.
Leedh has worked during the last months to actively promote their technology.
I assume several specialists of digital network players and / or d/a conversion will enhance the Leedh digital volume processing shortly.
I cannot say more as I am part of the project team but it will come soon.
Audirvana has not implemented the technology so far and is not in the position to release a new version including the Leedh DSP at short term.
New early adopters will probably come from the network players’ industry.

Cheers.

Joël

Not at this stage. We had no serious contact with DCS so far but if someone can help us to reach an open minded person at DCS, why not ?

If a very well known reviewer like you can not have access to the right ears in dCS i don’t see how a simple customer like me could do :D
Let me raised this point to dCS on their new community forum and see how they react and if they are not suffering of the NIH syndrom (Not Invented Here)

It has been announced few days ago that 3DLAB will be the next one to integrate the Leedh Processing. I heard Lumin is also going in the same direction. I will have the chance early next week to test the Leedh Processing through a specific hardware on my system for the second time.

http://www.audiophile-magazine.com/bancs-d-essais/vermeer-two/vermeer-two-3/

But before that, I was able to compare different options for adjusting the volume: that of the internal preamplification stage (variable output) of the Vermeer Two, that of the gain controller HVC5 from SPEC, and that of the Lumin X1, this time used as a digital transport with a brand new DSP with lossless volume control (Leedh processing) which is not yet official but which I have as a beta tester.

The results thus went crescendo. The internal preamplifier stage of the Vermeer Two is quite good. It is fairly neutral for an analog tube stage and does not particularly degrade the intrinsic performance of the D / A conversion stage.
The volume management and the display are particularly comfortable, whether you operate from the front panel of the device or via the remote control.
By selecting the fixed output and entering directly on the SPEC power blocks, it is nevertheless better: it gains in transparency and ventilation. This is a logical result since we remove components on the signal path, the gain setting of SPEC does not pass the audio signal.

Then using the Lumin X1 transport in its latest version, still in the prototype state, on the USB input of the Vermeer Two, the sound gains more transparency and naturalness.

Where have you read that 3DLAB is working on Pi4 based solutions ?
On the past they were using for their streamer the Engineered UpnP board (like bel canto refstream and others)

The configuration of the USB2/USB3 and Ethernet input/output on the backside is the same as on the RPi4.
So I bet it is.

Which product of 3dlab could use the pi4 ? I’m not able to find the right pictures of the back.

Go to the link in post#34 and clic on the images. Then opens a new window where you can see the backside.

Hello, yes you are right this is a Pi4 and not a Pi3. Thanks !

Welcome,
is the LEEDH volume control a software or hardware product?
Thanks

Matt
