My honest opinion, especially since you'll eventually get a HT, is to look at Adorama's deals on the Polk LSiM series. They may still have a $1,500 package that includes the 705, 703, and 706. That's 72% off retail and at that price, an unbeatable package. The 705's are pretty darn good speakers and then when you get a HT set, you may have more money available to significantly upgrade.

I'm on an upgrade path and can share some hard learned advice. Listen to everything in your price range you can to narrow the list then if you can't demo at your own home BUY USED!!! Value drops like a rock, but then settles so if you love what you hear resell and buy new if you like, but most important if they don't play well with everything else you can resell and recoup most if not all of your investment!
