A new way of tuning low frequency response....musically

Having a DEQX allows very fine tuning of my subwoofers and frequencies below 100hz etc

having previously tuned on room resonance response, i noted deep double bass still boomed at times

using a bass guitar tuning app, and plucked bass tracks, i isolated resonant frequencies, and moved frequency damping to centre on those frequencies rather than room frequency peaks, leading much smoother and clearer bass frequencies and overall clarity of midrange and soundstage

these were all high q corrections

obviously this would be not necessarily applicable to movies

Hello Awsmone

I get what you are doing but why didn't the DEXQ correct for these peaks? They absolutely should be applicable to movies as well. Either they are their or they are not and certainly could effect any music in the soundtrack.

I use the deqx to correct the peaks, but I shift the frequencies to maximise for the pitches of instruments

So say there is a room mode at 38 hz, and a speaker resonance at 41 then I shift the correction from 38 to 41hz

A deqx could correct room and speaker issues, but I was talking in regards to non deqx systems hope that clarifies things
