I am helping a friend who has a Sumiko mmt mounted on a VPI HW-19 MK iii. I am confused with the counterweight since the whole piece doesn't seem to be well attached to the arm. I am wondering if there is a sleeve would should attach to the arm with a set screw and then the counterweight slides over that. Instead, the whole thing seems to be one piece which loosely slides over the back end of the arm.
If anyone has experience with this old tonearm any help would be appreciated. I can upload pictures if that will help.
