Regarding calibration, does the Tape-A and Tape-B toggle on the VU panel only affect the bias setting? I have the deck calibrated for Maxell UD (Tape-B) and now want to calibrate Tape-A for LPR35. Do I need to recalibrate anything other than the bias? Do I need to do the record levels too?

It's a completely independent memory bank for new calibration. Same goes for if you pick NAB or CCIR and different speeds as well. So you need to calibrate everything all over.

Thanks.

That is what I did. I did the calibration for LPR35/IEC/15 ips and Maxell UD/IEC/15 ips using Tape-A and Tape-B.
