point taken.
but to say there is a renaissance of horns belies Audiogon sales or dealer sponsorship. There is 1 dealer for AG, Cessaro, Horning etc. in the US. Most of the JBLs (made in our backyard no less!) have been sold to Japan for years - nothing new. Most of the other horns are bespoke, direct vendors (Volti, Spatial, etc.)
that said, I can't wait to hear your incoming JBL-like PBNs! I'm a horn fan - but my girlfriend says AGs are ugly
Good points. I would also add that both the major audio magazines in the USA have an open distaste for horn speakers. This has hurt their representation in the USA.
Looks absolutely fantastic Christoph... that view is none too shabby either! Very cool music room.
Hi what JBL like PBNs? Can you please post pics
I'm having speakers built that are based around the compression driver and horn from the M2 speaker. Should be delivered mid December and pics will follow.
Hello jeffrey
Is it the passive version with dual 2235's? Was very surprised that JBL Pro made the waveguides available. I have been sitting on a driver set for about 2 years now with the same idea. One of these days!
Rob
Yes but they will be a little different than the speakers on his site. They will be MTM and have the classic PBN trapezoid shape. They'll look similar to the pic posted below.
I love the DIY speakers you've made, I wish I was that talented!

Why not get the 4367?
That M2 WG is designed to be used with a dsp system where the 4367 is not.

Yes the M2 was designed around DSP, however PBN spent many, many months fine tuning a passive crossover that is very successful, so DSP isn’t needed. The 4367 utilizes just one 15 , where as the PBN 2.5 utilizes 2 15’s per side. It just moves substantially more air than a 4367.
Cheers......
Nice. The best horns I have heard are all custom made.
