Hi! :)

Just found my way to this forum and hope I am not posting in the wrong place.

I am looking for help as I am directing Steinbeck's The Moon is Down with an amateur theatre group and wonder if anyone has suggestions for music to use. The novel was written during WW2, but we are staying vague about when it takes place (as Steinbeck suggested).

I am thinking classical instrumental, but not too "heavy" as it needs to match the "tone" of the play. Also, the theatre is small and "big" music will likely overwhelm the audience. The music can be contemporary. It can also be instrumental version of some song(s).

I would of course like to use the same composer for the whole play, for cohesion, with the possible exception of a song or two for female vocalist at the end and/or beginning which could even be the same song.

Any suggestions?

Best regards,
Ephemeralda
