    It is a great album. Too bad they abandoned the recording sonic qualities of DSOTH and WYWH.

    Yeah...I too love Animals. Dogs especially is just an incredible piece of music.

    It is a bummer that it wasn’t as well recorded as anything from Atom Heart Mother onward. It’s certainly not a bad recording, but it’s not phenomenal. Maybe that’s why there hasn’t been an “Immersion Box” reissue? The original Japan LP I have is better than the US LP or CD.

    Animals is not nearly as immersive as it's two predecessors, which is why it may come across as a less sonic effort.

    All I can tell you is from my own listening experience. I also have a 15ips safety master which sounds best but does not hold a candle to the 15 ips WYWH and DSOTM.

    Add me to the list of fans of this album. I think, like many PF albums, it has it's own vibe and when I'm in the mood for it, nothing else satisfies.

    I also agree that sonically it's a tad subpar.
