I Had Mactone M8V,the top of Mactone, mono with 100 watt 8 ohm and i used with Klipsch La Scala II and EV Sentry III
Sound was very open, transparent and very good bass, but when i used ANJ Neiro Silver or Kondo Souga, yes only 8 watt, but ok with my speaker, the sound was more natural

Nice Gian, i have this Amp for allmost a year and i love it. Compared it at that time with a lot of amps, but for me this was my winner.

As far a as I remember the Klimo OTL was a copy from the Julius Futterman OTL3 - I hosted had a pair several times in the late 80's and I remember it was serviced using the Futterman schematic, as it was not possible to get service information from Klimo.

Perhaps a great amplifier, but the unqualified use of the words "OTL/OTL with LTD technology" can be misleading. They are a special hybrid, with a 300B tube for gain and SS for power. I would appreciate to have more details.

It seems they are fulfilling what conrad johnson have shown in prototype a few years ago, but never entered production - the GAT power amplifier. As far as I remember Pathos also had similar designs.

Sorry i can't help very much, i know very little about this technology. I do know it is not a typical hybrid design, but something very different :).
When i change the 300b's from KR300b to Elrog 300b or .., the sound is very different. Not only for the first 20 watts.

My friend use Alien with Tad R1
Alien is build in Italy from SI AUDIO,but in their web you don't find anything
There are 2 products stereo for now,one with one 2A3 and has 100 watt and one with 300B with 250 watt
The power supply is transistor but i don't know well this new project

You can find some info if you find in google ALIEN SI LTD

I have had a few OTLs in my line up over the years- I still do.

Berning ZH270 Let this go to fund another diversion- a mistake
Futterman H3 still have this phenomenal with the ESLs- its sitting next to the Bedini 25/25
Custom Direct drive- not an OTL to be used with any speaker- but custom made to polarize the plates in order to drive the Beveridge Electrostatics directly- similar in concept to the original Acoustat X amps

And a pic of lamented Berning that I sold- some of the most amazing bass I have ever heard in a 10lb amp. Took this pic in the back yard in preparation for sale:(

Hi Kcin,

Yes, I have a restored Beveridge Model 3 and an un-restored Model II (the amps are finished courtesy of R. Modjeski, but the panels have not been completely restored). I have observed the Bev avatar on some of your posts.

Hi there,

That's exciting, I understand that Rick Beveridge is again restoring panels. Modjeski said that he might take a crack at it if he could get settled in his new home and found the time. My panels are, knock on wood, fine.

My Model 3's are now running direct drive and sub frequencies crossed over with a first order cap to stereo subs. I would jump on some Model 2's if I could find them. The Direct drive on the 3's make quite a difference.

Thanks.
