I have not heard this speaker. Having said that, looking at the size and the number/type of drivers it utilizes, I would certainly question what the SQ could be....
Matching that number of drivers...and on a baffle that size would take some engineering feat! To make that cabinet as inert as a Magico and with that number of drivers....????

These are billed as giant slayers

http://www.tektondesign.com/ulfberht-pmd-monitor.html

Better or at least as good as Magico and Wilson or B&W

Anyone heared or own these here?

The Tekton speakers seem to be way overhyped by owners and some reviewers !

If your looking for Giant Killers that can hang with some of the world's best speakers go listen to the all new B&W 702 s2's!:D;)

True giant-killers are usually from small companies that don't have marketing departments that cut corners and opt for cheap components in the crossover, which you can't see.

Try Vapor Audio:

http://www.vaporsound.com/

Even their affordable Cirrus Black is a killer speaker, better than $50K three-ways. They spare no expense, using custom drivers from the best suppliers in the world and the best in crossover components. They also minimize the number of poles in the crossover, making it more natural sounding.

I own the best IMO, newest Nimbus. Simply the best speaker I have ever heard, and I've had some megabux speakers in my exhibits at shows for the last 15 years.

Yes, they make some of the best speakers on the market too!

I bet they would get 'best of show' more if you would use the all new Micromega M1 100 or 150 Integrated amp with your speakers at the shows!:D;)

Hard to believe anything would beat my tweaked-out SET 805A-T monoblocks. Incredible floor shaking bass. 30-35 watts to each speaker enough to break windows. Cristalline, clear highs. Liquid midrange. Beautiful vocals. Incredible transients.

Besides, there is no integrated that will beat no preamp at all, no resistors at all. My volume control technology is like no preamp at all, but not using software. Also, my amps are pure class-A and DC-coupled. A Class A/B solid state will never compete. Not possible. I've been exhibiting at shows for 15 years and I've never heard anything solid state that sounds even remotely close to my amps, at any cost.

You should think about trying a Micromega M1 100 with room correction at your store and see what you think, they are only $5749 and the M1 150 are $7495.:b

I don't have a store. I'm a designer/manufacturer.

No, I have not heard them but one of my friends has listen to them and said they sounded pretty good for the money but they don't get you close to that sound you hear with good reference speakers! With the cheaper speaker drivers and cheaper crossover parts used in the double Impacts, your not going get reference sound by using cheaper components and parts! You can only take things so far with speakers priced at $3000!

My friend said Tekton did a great job with what they had to work with but the Double Impacts are not reference speakers!

My Dream System would be a 3k Tekton Double Impact speakers modified at the Upgrade Company with much better caps and their highly raved new TimePortal wiring!

I would pair these speakers up with a modified Mcintosh Ma8000 Integrated amp from the Upgrade Company.

https://upgradecompany.com/brands/up...r=ASC&limit=50

For CD Player, I would get a modified Mcintosh SACD/CD Player from the Upgrade Company

https://upgradecompany.com/brands/up...sacd-cd-player

Here's feedback from Modified Mcintosh owners!

https://upgradecompany.com/upgrade-c...h-testimonials

For all cables, I would get TimePortal cables from the Upgrade Company

https://upgradecompany.com/brands/timeportal

Here's some feedback from these TimePortal Cables!

I think that the odds are that Audio_Karma is an under-aged (possibly considerably under aged) web surfing dreamer. and I find nothing at all wrong with that. in fact; it's kinda cool and refreshing that he/she wants to hang here with us old fogies. but he/she is likely a few years away from personal experience with the products he/she posts about.

Having spent some time in front of the Double Impacts at a well set up Reviewers home and quality ancillaries.. They were less than desirable . Not just to me but the 3 others who were there who have some quality gear.. Magico, Martin Logan, Wilson, Merlin, Vandersteen.. Not one of these were even close to being bested buy this GIANT slayer..

I prefer Vapor, TAD and Focal over these. Heard all of them many times at shows for 15 years.

From CAPs list, I prefer Logan and Vandy over these, though haven't heard the Vapor. And others have been heard in private settings and with various amps, not just shows. Focal and TAD have huge bass though compared to the others, though I don't like that bass

You know you can pay extra and get boutique parts, right?

He seems to have cracked a nut with his patent around driver mass...maybe his ace up his sleeve to compete?
Never heard one, so cant say more.

Most speaker manufacturers these days have a premier speaker in their line with the best parts, cost no object, usually custom designed drivers etc.. Maybe they should add one, particularly if they have a novel technology.
