Was really impressed by Alex Garland's directorial debut Ex Machina. I'm interested.

I'm down to see this... that certainly earned it's name "teaser"

'Annihilation' is the most thoughtful science fiction movie since 'Arrival'.
The latest from Ex Machina writer-director Alex Garland again digs deep into heady philosophical questions.

Loved 'Ex Machina' but thought this was complete nonsense. Just one random event after another. Big disappointment.

It's coming up next month on Blu-ray, and also as a Best Buy exclusive on 4K UHD.

I saw it on Netflix some time back. It's . . . different.
It's not Ghostbusters, it's not Alien 3, it's not Arrival, it's all of them plus more.
It has nice visuals, best for the big screen (it made $40 million @ the box office from a $40 million budget).

Psychologic flick big time, where the mind of each person is wavering into multiple directions...free to interpret and travel.

Overall there is an atmosphere of disconnect, for me, but the intrigue kept me watching in search.
All the best visuals in the world, the CGI effects, the monsters, the music score, tra-la-la, they can only support what the film does to each person in its impacting the brain.
It's tough because this film has no message, no solution, it's a free zone for each person...my perception.

The rating from zero to one hundred is more reflective of the impact on each individual, it is not a mass consensus, here more than other films, I think.

@ the end I wasn't more advanced than @ the beginning. There is an original book from what this film is loosely based on, and a trio of books, a trilogy. I know nothing, I've read nothing, I only briefly checked wiki.

I find that a rating is not a guide on anything but a personal preference or deception.
Overall: 69

Last word: It's a personal journey of mind traveling, without specific destination but escales between.
We follow the actresses wherever they venture, and their acting, convincing, is very important. It makes all the difference in the world, I think. I wasn't convinced.
It's a little too far-fetched @ times, inconsistent in its overall atmosphere, but it has some great parts.
...Very personal. I might revisit it one day, or not. I will not get the UHD Blu-ray.

If someone says it's a masterpiece, I will not object.
If someone says it's a confusing deception, I will not object.
It is that type of film, more so than other films.

Annihilation: Rated R for violence, bloody images, language and some sexuality .

This was not the best movie. It had some nice visuals, but that was about it.

It made little sense. The whole refraction thing just didn't explain anything really. It was more of a B movie.
